The Bulgarian Industrial Capital Asociation has supported the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan. A total of EUR 5.7 billion will be invested in Bulgaria in the next 5 years under this plan. According to BICA, “this resource is an unprecedented opportunity to support the Bulgarian economy, business and citizens” to deal with the Covid-19 crisis. The Bulgarian Industrial Capital Asociation notes that the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan must also pay attention to policies aimed at dealing with the demographic crisis and promoting green technologies.
BICA objects to the idea which envisages that "money invested in Bulgaria to deal with the Covid-19 crisis is used to finance late, unsuccessful and irresponsible operations to achieve e-government"|.
BICA also insists on funding a Bulgarian genetic fund of plant varieties and animal breeds, including by encouraging farmers to cultivate plants and rear animals of guaranteed purity for the needs of such genetic fund.
