Bulgarian mountaineer Atanas Skatov is going on a climbing expedition to Karakorum Mountains at the border between Pakistan and India in an attempt to ascend K2 - the second-highest peak on the planet (after Everest). Rising at 8,611 meters above sea level, K2 remains the only unconquered eight-thousander during the winter season.
“It’s all about faith. I believe that we have a chance to climb the peak”, Atanas Skatov said in an interview for BGNES.
Boyan Petrov was the first Bulgarian mountaineer to ascend K2. He climbed the mount on July 31, 2014.
