For the next programming period, Bulgaria will have access to more funds than it currently has. "It is a myth that European funding for Bulgaria will be reduced," Bulgaria's MEP Andrey Novakov (EPP) said during an online forum on "The EU budget for the next 7 years - myths and reality", organized by the European Parliament's Bureau in Bulgaria. According to him, another myth is that Bulgaria is not ready to manage these EU funds, BTA reported.
"Currently, Bulgaria's contribution to the European budget is about half a billion euros a year, and we receive an average of over two. This means that we receive from the EU almost four times more than we import," Novakov said earlier today in an interview with BNR.
