The video cameras at the Green Balkans animal rescue centre in Stara Zagora, which monitor the breeding pairs around the clock, have shown that there is a freshly laid egg in the nest of the griffon vultures, the BTA reports.
The griffon vultures in Stara Zagora have already demonstrated they are good parents after last year they raised a baby griffon vulture. For this species, the current breeding season at the Green Balkans animal rescue centre started early with the birds displaying courtship behavior for over a month. Now they have turned their entire attention to the new egg.
