The Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) recalls that on January 1, 2021 it withdraws from circulation banknotes with a value of BGN 2 (approximately equal to EUR 1), issued in 1999 and 2005. They will no longer be legal tender, the bank has reported.
After this date, the 2-lev banknotes, issued in 1999 and 2005, will be exchanged at the BNB cash desks at face value without quantity limitation, without fees and without deadline. Only metal coins of BGN 2 will remain in circulation, BTA reported.
