Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Mariana Nikolova has presented an award to the oldest skier in Bulgaria - 96-year-old Ivan Raev from the town of Chepelare in the Rhodopes, the ministry reported. Minister Nikolova presented him with a diploma for exceptional merits in the development of tourism and a statuette of the symbol of this country - the Bulgarian rose.

Mr. Raev’s family were some of the founders of the ski resort of Pamporovo in the 1940s. Despite his age, he actively skis in the winter and swims.

"Life on our planet exists thanks to 3 things - sun, air and water. I use all three every day", Ivan Raev reveals the secret of his longevity in an interview for BNT.
