Bulgaria’s National Assembly elects new Director General of BTA

Bulgaria’s National Assembly has appointed Kiril Valchev as Director General of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency. Valchev was nominated for this position by the ruling GERB party. 105 MPs voted in favor of his candidature. 

Bulgaria’s Parliament elects BTA Director General for a five-year term. Two people applied for this position- Kiril Valchev and Ivaylo Danailov . Kiril Valchev was born in 1973. He is a legal adviser at BTA and a radio host at the private Darik Radio. Valchev’s candidature was backed by the two trade unions in BTA, BNR reporter Daniel Inkov informs.

Bulgaria’s Parliament launched a procedure to elect new Director General of BTA after the death of its former Director General Maxim Minchev.
