Business seeks equality in distributing Covid-19 aid

The Bulgarian Industrial Association has called for equality among enterprises when it comes to granting aid for the months in which they were closed because of the pandemic. This is what a letter of the association to chair of the budget committee in the Bulgarian parliament, Menda Stoyanova, reads. According to BIA, micro, small and medium enterprises established in 2020 have been discriminated against compared to those that were working in 2019 due to amendments to the Law on Emergency Measures and Actions.

According to the texts, enterprises established in 2020 are entitled to aid on the basis of their turnover for a month, unlike previously registered ones, for which the months of the same period of the previous year are used as basis for compensation for the period of idleness caused by restrictions.
