Average salary in Bulgaria at the end of 2020 was 735 euros

In the fourth quarter of 2020, the average monthly salary in Bulgaria reached 735 euros and marked a rise of 4.7% compared to the previous quarter, data by the National Statistical Institute show. The spheres with the largest rise are "Education" - 13.7%, "Healthcare and social work" - 11.6% and "Financial and insurance activities" - 6.8 percent. The most significant decline in salaries has been marked in the sphere of "Hotels and restaurants" - 11.6%.

In the fourth quarter of 2020 the average monthly salary rose by 9.4% compared to the same period in 2019. On an annual basis the largest rise was in "Real estate activities" - 22.4%, in "Healthcare and social work" and in "Government" by 18.5 percent.
