Skopje to step up negotiations with Sofia

Next week Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva is to meet with North Macedonia’s Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani. Ministers Zaharieva and Osmani are expected to agree on a date for an intergovernmental sitting aimed to adopt an action plan for cooperation between Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia in the implementation of the Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighborliness and Cooperation, MIA agency announced.

North Macedonia’s Premier Zoran Zaev voiced hopes that the Action Plan would help the two countries solve all open bilateral issues. Zoran Zaev has underlined that the Action Plan concerns the implementation of policies by sectors and that the work of the Joint Committee on Educational and Historical Issues would go separately from the Action Plan.
