The six Bulgarian polar explorers from the 29th National Antarctic Expedition are expected to arrive on Livingston Island on February 25th and open the season at St. Kliment Ohridski's base. The group of scientists whose number has been reduced because of the pandemic has the task of repairing the inevitable damage caused by the harsh climate to buildings and facilities at the Bulgarian Antarctic base during the severe and prolonged Antarctic winter and conserving it for the next.
According to Prof. Hristo Pimpirev, the leader of the expedition, at the end of March the group will return to the continent onboard a Chilean ship.
