Record-high number of Bulgarians abroad apply to vote at the forthcoming general elections

Until March 9, a total of 87,216 Bulgarian citizens have submitted applications to vote at the forthcoming Parliamentary elections. For comparison, the number of applications filed at the previous general elections in 2017 amounted to 45,071.

The highest number of applications were submitted in Turkey- 20,854, indicates data published on the web site of the Central Election Commission. Voters in Turkey will be able to cast their ballots in 35 polling stations. 16,159 Bulgarians in Great Britain applied to vote at the Parliamentary elections. Bulgarians in UK will be able to vote in up to 35 polling stations. 13,493 applications were submitted in Germany, followed by Spain- 7,743, the USA- 5,030, Italy- 2,719, Austria- 2,114, the Netherlands- 2,025, France- 1,949 and Greece- 1,941.
