All unpackaged food needs to be labelled, reads new regulation

Photo: Library

All unpackaged food that reaches the end user must be labelled. This is regulated in the Ordinance on the provision of information to consumers about food, approved by the Council of Ministers.
The requirements apply to the direct sale of unpackaged food to the final consumer, as well as to those offered by catering establishments where the products are not pre-packaged.
Labels must indicate the name of the product, the expiration date and information about the business operator offering the food on the market. Consumers should also have the option to receive information about the content of the product, BNR reported.
