The Catholic Christian world celebrates Palm Sunday today. In the Bulgarian town of Rakovski, where the largest Catholic community in Bulgaria lives, this year willow twigs were not distributed to the laymen by the clergymen but people carried them themselves. The celebration began with prayers outdoors in front of the church. They then went inside for the liturgy, as everyone was required to wear masks, Nova TV reported.
Last year, due to the coronavirus crisis, the holiday was not celebrated inside the church.
