In 1957 the Bulgarian Sports Totalizator was created with the idea to support physical education and sports in this country through the organization of lottery games and sports betting. The history of the Bulgarian lotto millionaires started in the 90s, when the amount of winnings in the games of the tote rose significantly.

On April 7, 1991, when an engineer from Ruse won BGN 1 million. The man was working 10-hour shifts at his workplace like many other workers at the time. According to today's calculations, the amount he received equals 55,000 dollars. Nowadays, the sums are quite different and are usually over a million dollars. In addition to providing hope of winning large sums of money, the Totalizator continues to support Bulgarian culture and sports in difficult times.
