ITN leader Slavi Trifonov addressed his supporters on Facebook with words of gratitude

One week after elections the political configuration in Bulgaria remains unclear

After the refusal of the current ruling party GERB, the mandate to form a government goes to TV showman Slavi Trifonov whose party "There is Such a People" (ITN) became the second political force in Bulgaria after the elections.


In an interview for the Bulgarian National Television, the Minister of Social Affairs Denitsa Sacheva, elected MP from GERB in the new National Assembly, pointed out that if 10 votes were needed for the new government, her party will give them for the sake of responsible policies. 

The left-wing opposition, represented by BSP leader Kornelia Ninova, has expressed readiness for the Bulgarian Socialist Party to vote for Trifonov if he needed political support. 

It became clear from MRF leader Mustafa Karadaya statement yesterday that the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) will also support a cabinet formed by ITN. 

However, Slavi Trifonov's party has repeatedly stated that it excludes the possibility of a coalition with both GERB and the BSP and MRF. 

Slavi Trifonov himself has so far not made a public statement on the issue of the formation of the future cabinet. In an address to his voters today on Facebook, he expressed his gratitude to all people who voted for him for their trust, without commenting on his intentions.
