No change in Bulgaria's position towards North Macedonia is expected

No change is expected in Bulgaria's position on the start of negotiations with North Macedonia for EU membership and the formation of the next Bulgarian government. This was said by MEPs from all political groups in the European Parliament asked by BNR's Horizon Channel during a virtual debate on the European perspective in the Western Balkans.

The MEP from the European People's Party Andrey Kovatchev said that Bulgaria has a broad position, voted by a huge majority in the parliament and it meets the basic European values. The MEP from the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats Petar Vitanov commented that all 17 Bulgarian MEPs had voted on the report on the progress of North Macedonia.
