3.09 is the average government score for childcare, reads the latest edition of the Annual Report Card prepared by the National Network for Children Bulgaria. For ten years now, the non-governmental organization has been preparing an annual Report Card, which evaluates the major policies targeting the child welfare in Bulgaria.

According to the latest Report Card, there has been no particular progress in the government’s policy for the child and even a decline has been reported in some sectors. “According to the Report Card, in 2020 the lives of children in Bulgaria worsened in terms of health care, violence against children and poverty," Plamena Nikolova from the National Network for Children Bulgaria told the Bulgarian National Radio.
