Attempts of illegal migrants from Greece to enter Bulgaria have increased 12 times since the beginning of 2021 in comparison to 2020. This is what BNR learned from its sources in the services. Border police patrols have stopped a significant number of migrants who tried to cross into Bulgarian territory.

For the first four months of 2021, a total of 2,213 illegal migrants from the territory of Greece were not allowed to enter the country. Nearly 4,000 illegal migrants unsuccessfully tried to enter Bulgaria from Turkey during the same period.

According to Greek media, illegal migrants from Turkey use roads through Bulgaria to enter Greece, BNR correspondent in Greece, Katya Peeva, has reported.
