Bulgarians in Chicago mark May 24 at the local City Hall

Representatives of the Bulgarian community in Chicago are invited to visit the City Hall on the occasion of May 24- Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, of the Bulgarian Alphabet, Education and Culture and of Slavic Literature. They will be congratulated on the occassion of May 24 in the presence of Svetoslav Stankov, Consul General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Chicago. The City Hall will also present an updated brochure in Bulgarian, which will help homeowners understand the complex tax system.

Bulgarian is spoken by 15 million people worldwide. The sunday schools and the associations of Bulgarians abroad play a key role in preserving the language among people of Bulgarian descent.
