The Seed Varieties company in Razgrad will be showing over 50 varieties of wheat, barley and triticale (a hybrid between wheat and rye) at the traditional open Wheat Day.

The event is taking place under the motto “Doing responsible farming”, the organizers say. The newest European, Bulgarian and Serbian selection will be presented in the experimental fields near the town of Kubrat. The organizers state that motto aims to provoke farmers to grow crops in such a way as to inflict a minimum amount of harm on the environment while at the same time maintaining a cost-effective production.
