The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works has taken actions to retrieve the money paid in advance by the state-owned company “Motorways” for the construction of road sections.

Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Violeta Komitova gave as an example payments to a private firm amounting to 1.8 billion Leva for the construction of Hemus motorway without any safeguards of the state’s interest. Minister Komitova pointed out that the actions of the regional ministry are in compliance with commercial legislation and that full security of the advance payments will be demanded.

"From now on payment will only be made for construction and installation work performed – impartially vis-à-vis the builders’ results," Violeta Komitova stated.
