Former Sofia City Prosecutor Nikolay Kokinov and former Deputy Prosecutor General Boyko Naydenov are two of the former senior magistrates who have been called for questioning by the police.

They are being questioned in connection with probes launched upon request by ministers from the caretaker cabinet. Police sources told the BNR’s Horizont channel that the former prosecutors were invited as members of the public to give written statements.

“I was asked about things that happened 12-13 years ago,” commented Nikolay Kokinov, who is currently a lawyer. He was dismissed after an audio recording was leaked in which Kokinov briefs the then Prime Minister Boyko Borissov about the results from inspections by the prosecutor's office of the Ministry of Agriculture before they have been made public by the prosecution.
