Delta variant of coronavirus could become dominant in September

By the end of September, the delta variant of the coronavirus would become dominant in Bulgaria, Chief Health Inspector Assoc. Prof. Angel Kunchev said.

He added that this Covid-19 variant would be the basis of a new wave of the pandemic, reporter Anelia Dzhambazka informed. Tightening of the anti-epidemic measures in this country would take place if the number of patients rose, Kunchev said at a briefing.

According to him, seven people infected with the delta variant were workers in Sofia’s public transport system.
