The Ambassador of Greece to Sofia Dimitris Chronopoulos has informed Bulgaria’s caretaker Minister of Transport Georgi Todorov that 3 mobile teams and 34 more law enforcement officers have been sent to Kulata-Promachonas border crossing on July 1, in order to ease traffic and speed up the movement of people and goods to Bulgaria’s southern neighbor.

The Ilinden - Exochi border checkpoint is expected to open for cars and tourists on July 1. Greece is also opening two new border crossings with North Macedonia, which is also expected to ease traffic through the Kulata– Promachonas border crossing.

Minister Todorov also called for an increase of the operating hours of Makaza-Nymphaea border checkpoint from 7 to 24 hours.
