The European Specialized Prosecutor's Office is starting an inspection of the absorption of EU funds under the Environment Operational Programme. This was announced by the caretaker Minister of Environment and Water Asen Lichev. The inspection was launched after a letter from former Minister Emil Dimitrov, with which he referred the programme to the prosecutor's office, although he had previously rewarded its governing body with 200% financial incentives, Lichev said.

He also said that the construction control authorities had started a procedure to stop the construction of a phantom spa hotel on the first line above Butamyata beach in the Black Sea village of Sinemorets.
