Traffic towards Kalotina is temporarily restricted along Europe motorway which is under construction due to traffic congestion along the border.

The restriction will be in place until traffic, which is regulated by traffic police, goes back to normal, the Road Infrastructure Agency says. Due to the incoming Turkish immigrant workers passing in transit from Germany towards Turkey and the checks by the health authorities vehicles have to wait at the border for hours.

Due to slow processing outward bound trucks have formed a 2 km. line at Kardam border checkpoint, drivers told the BNR, after having to wait for 10 hours to cross the border over into Romania.
