Bulgarian school goers were awarded distinctions for their achievements in space science at the Space Camp Turkey, a programme modelled after NASA.
“For 21 years, ever since it was created, we have been partners in this space camp located in Izmir, Turkey. It is modelled after the NASA space camp in USA where school children undergo a one-week programme, similar to the training prigrammes of the NASA astronauts. We have already sent more than 1,000 Bulgarian children to the camp in Turkey, which is currently the only functioning school camp of this kind outside the US,” Miroslava Dimitrova, coordinator of the programme said for the BNR.
