“With the presentation of the nomination of Plamen Nikolov for prime minister we now have a completely new situation and a formula for the next cabinet,” commented Vice President Iliana Yotova, who was a guest at the traditional festival at Popovi Livadi marking the anniversary of the Ilinden-Preobrazhenie uprising.

In her words the party which won the election has a lasting commitment to the next government, politically and as a party, and the composition of the cabinet is yet to become known.

“The figure of the prime minister who is a member of “There Is Such a People” party, and now with a political biography within that party, means a much bigger responsibility and commitment,” Iliana Yotova said, and once again laid an emphasis on the need to form a cabinet quickly.

During the event in front of the monument to Gotse Delchev, Iliana Yotova stated that the country will not tolerate hate speech or any substitution of history, and that its voice is already being heard in Europe.

“The resolution adopted by the Republic of North Macedonia with red lines for the negotiations with Bulgaria is not going to help the process of clarification of the positions between the two countries, especially at a time when the dialogue between Sofia and Skopje is starting to develop,” she said.
