Europeans feel great in Bulgaria, because there are not so many restrictions in this country- people do not have to wear face masks outdoors and unvaccinated people can visit cafes and restaurants, Associate Professor Rumen Draganov, Director of the Institute for Analysis and Assessment in Tourism, said for “Bloomberg Bulgaria”.

That is why the number of foreign tourists visiting Bulgaria this summer is twice bigger as compared to 2020. More than 1.5 million foreign tourists are expected to visit Bulgaria in August, whereas only 740,000 foreign guests visited this county last summer. Nearly 8 million foreign tourists are expected to visit Bulgaria in 2021. In 2020, the number of foreign tourists in Bulgaria amounted to 2,556,000. The beaches along Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast are full of people. Tourists are complaining about the shortage of sunbeds and beach umbrellas, said Associate Professor Rumen Draganov.
