Trade union calls for mass vaccination before the new Covid-19 wave

All workers, employees and citizens of the country should be vaccinated to protect themselves, their loved ones and their workplace. This is what CITUB, one of the two major unions in the country, appealed to in an open letter. CITUB noted that the scientific facts are clear that vaccines can prevent the severe course of the disease and reduce the number of people admitted to hospital with complications.
The data for Bulgaria show that only 1-2% of those admitted to hospital are vaccinated, and it is with only one dose, and 98% of those hospitalized are currently without a vaccine.
A new serious increase in the number of patients carries the risk of introducing restrictive measures and closing down businesses, but this can be changed through voluntary vaccination against coronavirus, according to the union.
