Road construction workers block roads in the country in protest over unpaid wages

Workers in the Black Sea Motorways have organized a protest in the centre of Sofia over unpaid 18.5m euros and blocked traffic in front of the Council of Ministers. They are dissatisfied that they have not received salaries for almost 4 months. Payments to the company's suppliers are also late and from August 16 the company will stop working. The protesting workers also blocked the crossroads in Ruse on the way to Varna and  the Belokopitovo road junction on the Hemus highway near Shumen. 

We have not made the due payments to many companies, admitted the regional minister Violeta Komitova. She said she would turn to the prosecutor's office because the previous management of the institution had commissioned activities for which no funds had been provided.
