“At this stage no additional restrictions and closing of businesses over the Covid-19 surge are to be expected,” Dr. Alexander Zlatanov, Deputy Minister of Health in the caretaker government said for the BNR’s Horizont channel.

At the moment this country is in 20th position in Europe in the incidence of coronavirus. Dr. Zlatanov pointed out that there are no contradictory opinions within the health authorities when it comes to containing the epidemic, and also that the statement made by the Director of the Sofia Regional Health Inspectorate Dancho Penchev that anti-epidemic measures are to be introduced in Sofia was “a mistake and a mix-up". The Deputy Minister of Health urged the public to observe the anti-Covid measures, stressing that mask-wearing was not a personal choice. “When it affects society it is not a personal choice, it is an obligation with a view to people’s health,” he commented.
