Prosecutor’s office: Ivan Geshev’s appearance for hearing in parliament constitutes violation of Constitution

In a press release, the prosecutor’s office states that Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev’s appearance for a hearing at the ad hoc parliamentary committee on police brutality constitutes a violation of the Constitution.

Yesterday the National Assembly adopted a declaration condemning the misuse of powers by police officers, and unanimously decided that the prosecutor general must present a report, by 20 August, on the actions or inaction of the prosecutor’s office during the anti-government protests.
