Independent financing of municipalities to facilitate initiative

At a meeting with President Rumen Radev, representatives of the local authorities in Topolovgrad called for the elimination of the subjective factor in the distribution of government subsidies to municipalities, as well as to take into account their specific characteristics.

The head of state pointed out that independent financing of municipalities from the central budget will facilitate initiative and effective decision making at local level. When asked about the migrant pressure, the President said that the state was adapting the planned measures, as funds for this were provided in the reserve that the caretaker government has managed to collect. However, its updating depended on the parliament.
