The 37th Apollonia Arts Festival is opening today in Sozopol on the Black Sea.
As always, the festival programme includes concerts of classical, as well as pop, rock and jazz music. There will be several exhibitions, presentations of new Bulgarian books, plays and screenings of new Bulgarian films. There will also be master classes – by opera prima Alexandrina Pendatchanska, jazz singer Vassil Petrov, as well as writer Georgi Gospodinov.
The festival kicks off with a concert by the Sofia Soloists Chamber Ensemble with conductor Plamen Djurov. In 2021 the ensemble marks its 60th anniversary.
