Prof. Nikolay Vitanov predicts high mortality from Covid-19 until end of September

Prof. Nikolay Vitanov

The unfavourable scenario of the coronavirus epidemic is coming true, the mathematician from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Prof. Nikolay Vitanov, told Nova TV. He predicts that high mortality will remain at least until the end of September.

According to him, an interesting fact can be noticed in Sofia - the city, which should be the most severely affected, is starting to leave the red zone. This means that cases are lost because people do not seek medical help and try to treat themselves. However, this can lead to a secondary peak of the Covid wave.
The mathematician also said that the Delta variant "hits everyone, even babies", and that the virus withstands high temperatures because it came from hot India.
