The National Assembly adopted amendments to the budget of the public social insurance. From October 1, the minimum pension will increase from EUR 150 to EUR 185. The MPs from the Bulgarian Socialist Party, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms and GERB voted in favor of this proposal. The Bulgarian Socialist Party, GERB and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms supported the proposal of the MRF for a monthly supplement of EUR 60 to all pensions for October, November and December and the proposal of GERB party for a monthly supplement of EUR 50 to all pensions for the last three months of the year.

The revenue of the budget is now EUR 100 million more than the one adopted by the National Assembly Committee on Budget and Finance. The other parliamentary groups questioned the parameters set in the budget update and expressed fears that this would leave the industries affected by the coronavirus pandemic without compensations. The MRF accused the so-called parties of protest for failing to form a government again.
