The best documentary films will be presented within the frameworks of the 2nd edition of Sofia DokuMental Festival. The festival began on September 7 and will continue until September 14. Unlike last year’s edition, in 2021 the festival welcomes its audience live and visitors are required to observe all anti-epidemic measures. Sofia DokuMental Festival features 40 documentaries that focus on human rights, including documentaries with awards at the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale), the Sundance Film Festival, as well as films nominated for an Oscar and winners of Oscar awards.

Under the slogan “Do Cross the Line”, selected films invite viewers to “cross” the border and watch a different and bold cinema in selected art spaces.

“The festival features some of the latest documentaries of 2021 and several documentaries of 2020, literally the most popular and successful documentary films”, commented film producer Martichka Bozhilova.
