Bulgaria is among the countries of the EU with the smallest number of charging stations for electric vehicles per 100 kms. of roads, indicates a survey by the Association of Car Manufacturers.

In 10 EU countries electric car drivers have to cover more than 100 kms. of motorways and interurban roads to reach a charging point. Greece and Estonia are bottom of the list with 0.2 charging points per 100 kms. In this indicator Bulgaria has 0.8 stations per 100 kms. Top place goes to the Netherlands with 48.

Romania is also one of the countries without an electric charging infrastructure, as are Latvia and Poland. In these countries the demand for electric vehicles is under 3% of the car market.
