The Art Hall gallery in Sofia will broadcast live from Paris one of the most awaited cultural events in Europe - the official opening of Christo's latest project "L'Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped'.
“It will be like a living object that will come alive in the wind and reflect the light. The folds will move, the surface of the monument will become sensual," the late artist of Bulgarian origin had said about his installation. In 1961, Christo arrived in Paris and from that moment on he felt a strong attraction to the Arc de Triomphe.
Sixty years later, his project has been completed and the monument is wrapped in 25,000 square meters of recyclable polypropylene fabric in silver blue as 3,000 square meters of red rope was used, too. Christo's temporary art installation will continue until October 3.
