The minimum monthly salary is expected to increase. Currently, we are working on different scenarios for a higher minimum salary, Bulgaria’s caretaker Minister of Labor and Social Policy Galab Donev said for Nova TV.

Galab Donev said he supported the increase of incomes and the minimum monthly wages. The minimum salary will rise, but not to EUR 388 per month, as proposed by the biggest trade union in this country- the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria. An increase from EUR 322 to EUR 388 would be too sharp, contends Minister Donev. Incomes have increased by an average of 14% this year, while inflation amounts to just over 2%. Pensions increased as well, reminded Minister Galab Donev. According to Minister Donev, the income growth has significantly outstripped inflation in 2021.
