The shelf life of Covid-19 vaccines can be extended. The shelf life of Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine has been already extended, the Executive Director of the Bulgarian Drug Agency Bogdan Kirilov said for the BNT.

"The European Medicines Agency (EMA) carried out an evaluation and confirmed that their shelf life could be extended from 6 months to 9 months. In other words, the shelf life of all vaccines delivered in the country has been automatically extended until the end of December", Bogdan Kirilov explained.

So far, Bulgaria has bought a total of 6.6 million vaccine doses. About 2.5 million doses have been administered and nearly 550,000 doses have been donated to non-EU countries. 100,000 doses were resold to Norway.
