There are huge queues of trucks in the area of the Danube bridge 2 at the town of Vidin. The Traffic Police said that due to the repairs in the Pass of the Republic connecting North and South Bulgaria via the Balkan Range, the drivers are heading to this checkpoint. Lachezar Bliznakov from the Traffic Police called on drivers to use the other passes and to pass through the border crossing Danube Bridge Ruse.

"Kilometre-long columns at Danube Bridge 2 near Vidin are formed every day. Yesterday they were about 20 km. This necessitates the cessation of heavy traffic in the region of Montana and Vratsa in order to ensure safety for other road users. Travellers in the direction of Ruse-Svilengrad can use the other two passes - Rizhki and Kotlenski mountain passes", Bliznakov explains.
