A group of migrants has been detained in Northeastern Bulgaria, the Regional Directorate of the Bulgarian Ministry of Interior in Targovishte announced. The migrants failed to present identity documents.
The group consisted of nine people aged between 14 and 30. The migrants said they were nationals of Afghanistan and that they crossed illegally the Bulgaria-Turkey border. The authorities instituted pre-trial proceedings against the foreign nationals. The adult immigrants were detained and the minors were placed under police protection.
