Election day abroad is proceeding normally

Photo: Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

According to data of Bulgaria’s diplomatic missions, all polling stations abroad equipped with voting machines are functioning normally. This country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken the necessary steps to make sure that election day abroad goes ahead normally without any impediments. Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry is doing its best to react to the last-minute changes of members of sectional election commissions abroad, which are mainly caused by positive Covid-19 test results. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in constant contact with the diplomatic and consular representations of Bulgaria abroad, as well as with the sectional election commissions abroad and the Central Election Commission.

Election day in Australia ended at 11 am Bulgarian time. Bulgarians in Australia voted in 6 polling stations. The polling stations in Japan and Singapore are expected to close at 13.00 pm and 14.00 pm Bulgarian time. Bulgarians also vote in Bahrain. Bulgaria opened a polling station for the first time in this country.
