Gallup: Rumen Radev and Anastas Gerdzhikov continue race for the presidency

According to the results of the exit poll of the Gallup sociological agency, a media partner of the Bulgarian National Radio, at 8 pm on November 14, 2021 the votes the presidential candidate pairs received are as follows:

Rumen Radev - Iliana Yotova – 49.3% of the votes;

Anastas Gerdzhikov - Nevyana Miteva - 25%;

Mustafa Karadayi - Iskra Mihailova - 9%;

Lozan Panov - Maria Kasimova-Moase, 4.2%;

The turnout was 36%, which means that there would a runoff.

In order for the election of a head of state to be legitimate in the first round, more than half of the actual votes must be cast for him, and more than 50% of the citizens with the right to vote must have participated in the elections. Otherwise, a runoff is held within 7 days and the winner is the one with the highest number of votes. The Bulgarian President is elected for a term of five years.

A total of 23 presidential pairs took part in the race. 12 of the candidates for head of state were nominated by initiative committees, and the rest are party candidates.
