The Dragomir Winery Estate in the village of Brestnik, designed by architect Todor Obreshkov and Zoom studio has received the grand prize in the third edition of the Bulgarian Architectural Awards competition.

"The space combines concrete, metal and glass. The cool industrial design is softened by the beautiful wooden furniture. Glass partitions provide visibility between the different areas in the building. Visitors can observe the production process through spacious windows. A rich park environment is formed around the estate and it is picturesquely embedded in the natural landscape", it is said in the motives of the jury.

For the first time, the Bulgarian Chamber of Architects presented an award for overall creativity. It was bestowed to the prominent Bulgarian architect Lozan Lozanov.
Another 4 projects received special awards from the prestigious international jury, which includes world-renowned architects.

A total of 35 projects participated in the competition, implemented in the period from the beginning of 2019 to September 2021 (the event was not held in 2020 due to the pandemic).

Members of the international jury were: Christos Passas - Director of Zaha Hadid Architects, UK; Adrian Soare - co-founder of Cumulus, Romania; Brendan MacFarlane - partner Jakob + MacFarlane architects, France; Alireza Taghaboni - founder of NextOffice, Iran; Adam Hatvani - founder of Spora Architects, Hungary; Kerem Yazgan, Managing Partner at Yazgan Design Architecture, Turkey.
