Large-scale industrial parks near Bulgaria's Plovdiv slow down operation

Uncertainty and fear that they may lose their jobs on the eve of winter worry workers from the industrial zones near Bulgaria's second-biggest city Plovdiv. In some of the large factories, layoffs have already begun, but at this stage they are not massive, the 24 Chasa daily reports.

The pandemic, the loss of markets and the sharp jump in fuel prices have forced the management of some of the companies in the industrial zone to take undesirable steps.
To retain staff, many foreign investors in the region have adopted a floating schedule for working and non-working days. In order not to start staff reductions, some companies have already introduced the so-called "non-working Mondays", the edition further reports.
