Bulgaria’s Ministry of Interior and the National Customs Agency can now submit signals to the European Public Prosecutor's Office on instituted criminal proceedings. Until now, only the Supreme Prosecutor's Office of Cassation had this opportunity. The Ministry of Interior and the National Customs Agency will be able to notify the European Public Prosecutor's Office directly. The European Public Prosecutor's Office will assess whether there are breaches affecting the EU’s financial interests.
